AAMET TRAINERS’ TRAINER REQUIREMENTS (EFT)

1) Entry Requirements. Before therapists are admitted to the AAMET training scheme for training EFT Trainers they must have already fulfilled the following requirements:-

(a) They must be qualified and experienced EFTers. Usually at least three years experience using EFT on individual clients is required. It is expected that, during this time, they will have dealt with at least 200 clients in one-to-one situations with a wide variety of issues (including fears, trauma, guilt, grief, physical issues, learning disabilities, children’s’ issues, serious diseases, etc

To be qualified they must, normally, already hold the AAMT/ AAMET Practitioner /Level 3 Certification.

Additionally those who hold a current AMT Practitioner Certificate, or who have successfully completed the “EFT Certification of Completion Program (EFT-ADV)” may be accepted on to the workshop, if they comply fully with the other entry requirements and can show evidence of practical experience. Practitioners trained by the AMT must produce acceptable certification and must be listed on the AMT web site as Practitioners.

All applicants should have experience with groups using ‘Tearless Trauma’ and ‘Borrowing Benefits’

(b) They must show proof of experience and/or qualification in the teaching of adult students preferably in a healing art.

2) Initial Training. Candidates must attend an initial one-day trainers’ workshop with an AAMET approved and certificated trainer of trainers.

This will include familiarisation with the AAMET EFT Practitioner Syllabus, Gary Craig's basic EFT process, and his ‘Guidelines for Approved EFT Workshops’. They should be familiar with the AAMET Code of Ethics and must agree to abide by it.

Candidates on this training will be expected to be familiar with Gary Craig's Videos/CD's and his manuals ‘The Manual’, ‘The Ultimate Therapist’ and ‘Palace of Possibilities’, ‘Specialist Series 1 & 2’ and ‘Borrowing Benefits’. They will be provided with a specimen copy of a current AAMET Practitioner Manual in both electronic and hardcopy form, and other data (including OHP sheets) to assist in teaching this therapy. They will also be given examples of course schedules ranging from short introductory presentations up to full Practitioner Workshops and Advanced/Expert Level.

They will be provide with a copy of Gary Craig’s Introductory Video (which Gary no longer supplies) and a copy of his ‘Week at the VA’ video to use in conjunction with their trainings if they wish.

3) Practical Trainings. Those who have successfully completed the one-day training will be expected to additionally attend two practitioner trainings run by qualified trainers, while at the second they must undertake a significant part of the presentation under the supervision of the qualified trainers.

Where the qualified trainers involved in these workshops are not those who provided the training under (2) a written report will be submitted covering the candidate trainer’s work during these sessions and it will be the responsibility of the certificated trainers’ trainer undertaking (2) to make the final assessment and to issue certification.

4) Certification. Candidates who comply with (1) and who have completed (2) and (3) will be awarded the "AAMET Trainers (EFT)" Certification. They will be provided with samples AAMET Certifications which they can award to successful students without further reference to the AAMET. The issue of this certification is at the sole discretion of the certificated trainer and is their sole responsibility - the AAMET is not a party to this certification other than as the authority approving the trainer.

Trainers may add Gary Craig’s ‘Seal of Approval’ to their material and to AAMET Certification, if their workshops come up to the standard recommended by him for the level claimed and if it is advertised on his web site at that standard. However, they do this on their own responsibility and the AAMET does not warrant that the workshops attain the standard required.

Certificated trainers may only certificate practitioners and are not qualified to certificate other trainers nor are they automatically qualified to train at Level 3.

Therapists awarded Practitioner Certification by AAMET certificated trainers become members of the AAMET without payment of joining fees or annual fees and may, if they wish, be added to their practitioner listing on the AAMET Website free of charge.

Once certificated, trainers do not need annual renewals their Trainers’ Qualification.
